Tree and grass biochar seedballs in action!

World Vision Kenya's Dryland Development - Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration project near Matuu Town, purchased and spread a mix of our biochar seedballs on one of their community owned and managed sites in November 2017.

Here are some photos of before and after the rains!
We broadcast spread 50kgs of Eragrostis superba grass seedballs and also 5kgs of mixed sesbania sesban, acacia seyal, acacia xanthopholea and acacia tortillis seedballs as well.
The site is looking amazing today after these recent heavy rains - we counted out over 100 sesbania trees and dozens of our acacia seedlings as well!

The Masai Love Grass (Eragrostis superba) is producing seed and this 1 acre test plot will provide the first seedbank for the local farmers for planting back on their own farms.

We are thrilled with the progress of this small test plot and will be visiting it often and will keep you updated once we conduct a more thorough analysis and count of the all of the trees.
